Something that Impacts all of Us

Everyday we  exit and enter Aquarina.  Bump, bump, bump as we enter our Aquarina and bump, bump, bump as we exit our Aquarina.  This entrance is the first impression of our community.  These pavers have been existing  for 33 years.  They are due for a tune up, i.e. a resetting.  The cost to correct this ongoing condition is certainly less than what we are presently spending  on indulgent projects.

We spend our funds on moving a work out room and embellishing a golf Maintenance Yard to a condition beyond what is commensurate for our golf course, yet we are bounced exiting and entering or community.

Again, what are our Board of Directors thinking?

Your thoughts?

  1. I agree. The front entrance pavers are old and with tar stains. This is neglected yet we spend $90,000+ to move a perfectly good and functioning work out room to an old and bad Admin building. We spend $350,000 on a new golf maintenance state of the art facility when all that was needed was some repairs to main equipment storage building. Will this encourage more play and more rounds? Is this the vision of the community as a whole or a select few. We have a beautifully landscaped front area yet we put flying banner signs like you see in used car lots. Will someone driving by at 50 mph and sees the “open to public–tennis” sign really come in. Worse yet if they do they will probably encounter a closed tennis pro shop and place empty. Will that cause public good will? No. Negetative publicity is worse than no publicity at all. Like your blog. Facts and good tough questions. Why no response from board?

    1. I am so dumbfounded the board can not even try to answer your simple direct questions, your hard facts and stop work orders, unlicensed contractor fines 7 times for $1750, working before permit fines issued $250. We have a board out of control, above the law and dangerous for our members. Can someone please do something? Please. Bad things happen when good men and women do nothing.

    2. I am totally baffled no board response. They must think they are totally invinceable, untouchable and dictators. Let’s dump them quickly before they destroy our community. Most if not all of them ( other than STewart Capps ) who has been here for 20 years are very new members who do not know our history .

  2. If the board is still silent and can not answer your simple and direct questions they have definitely have something to really hide. Obviously

  3. It is always the same story every year. Golf always loses money and the subsidy covers it up.

If you are a non-golfing resident you will subsidize every round you see from your home as long as you live here. And, you subsidize the golfer’s drinks and food at the bar afterwards.

Golfer – Aquarina is a good value and you get board representation.
    Non-Golfers – Who represents you?

    1. Good comment. Let’s get a non golf board or at least a golf neutral board. Our assessments go up and up each year but the golf memberships never go up. We need maga (make aquarina great again).
