Where We are Now

What if . . .

  • The Board, and especially its President, could be convinced to see the waywardness of its actions, drop its selfish and self-aggrandizement behavior, and have all the residents’ welfare as its goal by following the democratic process of our By-Laws and CC&R’s?
  • The Board, and especially its President, could understand that there is no transparency existing for the community with the financial information for AGI, and yet the Aquarina Budget has an enormous line item of over $200,000 plus to fund AGI. There is no accountability with this obstinate behavior with the financial data, and not having the transparency begs the question if there is possible collusion between AGI and the Board, and its President.
  • The Board, and especially the President, could see that they are responsible to serve the whole community and not just foist a personal agenda for themselves, their acolytes, and their disciples upon the Residents.

Did you know . . .

  • There are Residents, in the know, that believe, if the Board and its President abandoned their personal and irresponsible agenda, the Aquarina quarterly fees could be reduce by nearly $300, i.e. an average of $100 per month.
  • A $300 reduction would help reduce the public’s notion that Aquarina fees are unnecessarily high, which in turn would result in a more vibrant real estate market in Aquarina, and higher property values.
  • Realtors are acquiring a sense of apparent mismanagement of Resident funds in Aquarina, which certainly could lead to less sales and property values dropping.
  • All the suggestions that The Voice has laid out in the past months, e.g. repairing the entrance driveway, putting in place maintenance programs, upgrading the beach shower and Beach Club House Elevator, creating an arm’s length relationships with AGI businesses, demanding a Resident voting process to eliminate wasteful assessments and spending, etc., would result in a more efficiently run community, and a community with a presentation that would raise property values.
  • The average number of years of Aquarina residency for each of the Board members is five years, except for one member, who has decades of residency, and who is not a proponent of the foolish decisions that the Board has made.  Interesting.

Irresponsible Behavior has Consequences

It is obvious that there is a cabal mentality within the Board and its President.  The agenda is not for the community as a whole, but for the cabal.  The cabal’s vision and agenda are what is thought best, by the cabal, for all the Residents.  Aquarina’s By-Laws, CC&R’s and AGI companies have been manipulated to serve the purposes of this cabal.  The Board and its President have taken advantage of the Residents’ obvious complacency, passiveness, and, maybe, apathy to the Board’s and President’s reckless use of the Residents’ funds, and their failure to perform their fiduciary responsibility to the Residents, which is their legal obligation.

The consequences of all this can result in a financially burdened community, which will drive property values down, and ironically, not only cause some Residents to leave Aquarina because of this increasing financial infliction, but now to have their properties decline in value as they attempt to sell and leave, a total disaster.

The alternative consequence is for the cabal to fail in its agenda, with a new Board and a new President to take charge and follow a path where the community has the opportunity to participate in making decisions to improve Aquarina in a reasonable and financially feasible manner, which will enhance property values and not diminish them.
